Medics Ambulance is proud to announce our EMS Division! We have worked nonstop since October 2007 to attain the highest quality of service for this project.
Some basic info about our zone:
The zone is comprised of approximately 120 Square Miles of unincorporated central Palm Beach County, the Village of Palm Springs, and the City of Lake Worth.
We have divided the entire zone into 3 smaller zones:
Each zone has its own dedicated EMS Unit or Echo Unit which works on a 24/48 rotating schedule.
Echo's 4-6 are dedicated 12 hour trucks which operate in a system status management mode to float throughout the area and handle peak call volume. Alpha units are combination non-emergency / backup emergency trucks and are deployed as needed. The remaining fleet is scheduled as demand dictates to primarily handle non-emergency calls.
For this project, Medics purchased 10 New Ford E350 AEV Ambulances to add to our existing Palm Beach Operations Fleet. The newest vehicles are 801-807. Each vehicle carries a Stryker stretcher, Zoll M-Series 12 Lead EKG, Capnography, AVL, GPS, DriveCam event recorders, and everything else required to provide exceptional service to the patients we care for.
Commander 1 is the 24/48 EMS Shift Supervisor. He or she is responsible for EMS field operations, assists units as needed, and responds to major incidents. Commander 1 drives a Chevrolet Tahoe
To handle this project we have hired in excess of 100 new Full Time employees. We moved only the most experienced employees up to our EMS Division. Each employee is required to go through an initial orientation, EVOC refresher, defensive driving training, and maintain an average of 12 CEU'S per year. We are in the process of re locating our Palm Beach County Operations Headquarters to a new facility three times the size of the current office.
Medics is committed to being successful in providing a high quality, efficient, and user friendly EMS System to the residents and visitors of Palm Beach County.
